My mom has the belief that if you look good, people will treat you better. I tend to agree considering how I usually receive better customer service when I look more “stylish.” Thus, as a general rule, my family tends to dress up a bit when we know we’re going to deal with sales people, or people in general. For example, when my mother went out to buy some seeds for her garden she decided to dress…like a garden. Her floral crop blazer could compete with a number of garden houses. Her entire outfit is from the thrift store, leaving her lots of extra change for any blossoms on her list. And as per usual she was well treated by all the clerks. Moral of the story: look good, get better service.
