A Handful of Dust

Givenchy generally does a good job of bringing out the girly in girl in me. So, it was no surprise that I fell midly in love with these their hand bag. The deeper pink is the GIVENCHY Nightingale Large in Dusty Pink which is large and very roomy. What I wasn’t in love with was the fact that the bag is made out lamb leather. I prefer faux leather for several reasons, one being I’ve never been crazy about that “leather smell” the other is I don’t see what you have to use lamb skin for a hand bag in today’s mordern age with so many alternatives. It’s not necessary. But that is just my opinion. Therefore, when I came across the Foley + Corinna Mid City Tote in Dusty Pink I was all excited…until futher research showed they used real leather too. Still, I can’t deny that the bags are lovely, and if they weren’t made of real leather I’d happily hold these dusty totes with both hands.

Don’t ask me how it happened. One minuet I’m on tumblr looking at pictures of dusky seascapes, the next moment I’m thinking the whole world should be black and blue, starting with my wardobe! I never noticed how stunning deep dark blues and blacks were, especially when combined. A blue-black top with a blacker than black leather skirt would make a great outfit for a night out. Black is the color for fall, but some may still want to keep some color in the style. The blue-black combo is a good way to do that. It lets you try out the trend, without being dipped in full black from head to two.  I adore the rose print sweater featured here and if someone could buy me all the shoes I’d love them forever.

Reminds Me Fall

I’m doing my best to keep my mind on summer (or what’s left of it) but my eye keeps catching Autumn colors. The browns, reds, and oranges are a beauty to see  through the the city and forests. All I keep thinking about is turning my closet in an Autumn inspired forest of clothes. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer colors but there’s something about the oranges, reds, brown hues in the clothes featured in this post that make me wish it were Autumn already– with falling leaves, pumpkin flavored lattes, and no excuse needed to wear leather.
